Data Security & Privacy
Last updated: November 18, 2025
At Aino, we take the security and privacy of your geospatial data seriously. Our platform is designed to ensure that your projects, data, and analysis remain private, secure, and fully under your control.
Private Project Storage
All projects are hosted in private, organization-specific storage buckets on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Only authorized users in your organization can access your projects and data.
You control access through your organization’s login and authentication system.
Data Privacy
Your project data is never used for training or tuning AI models.
Data you upload or retrieve is accessible only to your team.
Public datasets (e.g., OpenStreetMap, Microsoft Building Footprints) used in projects are kept private once added to your workspace.
AI Model & Data Usage
Aino converts text prompts into SQL, Spatial SQL, or Python code — it does not access or learn from your GIS data.
Metadata (layer names, schema structures) is stored to maintain project context but remains private to your organization.
No project data or context is used to train or fine-tune our AI models.
Improving Aino Safely
We may use aggregated and anonymized user prompts to improve the platform.
Insights are used to:
Add new data connectors
Expand visualization options
Introduce new analytical algorithms
Prompts are never linked to identifiable users or project data.
Compliance & Data Management
Cloud Security: Hosted on AWS and Azure with encryption in transit and at rest, plus enterprise-grade access control.
EU Regulation: Fully compliant with GDPR and other applicable privacy laws.
Data Deletion: On request, we can permanently delete your profile, projects, and associated data.
Your Data, Your Control
With Aino, your geospatial data and analysis are always secure, private, and fully under your control — giving your team confidence to explore, analyze, and innovate without compromise.
