What is Aino MCP?
Aino MCP is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://mcp.aino.world/mcp. It gives AI assistants the same tools as the Aino web app: your projects and datasets, a PostGIS SQL engine over your map layers, site screening and feasibility agents, and analysis reports. Your assistant works as you, inside your Aino account, and uses your credits the same way the app does.
What you can ask
“What share of Sacramento’s land is zoned for multifamily?”
1.84% of the city: 401 zoning areas across R-3, R-3A, R-4 and RMX, 1,187.7 acres in total.
City zoning · one dataset · about 10 seconds
“How many current building permits are in flood zones?”
About 2,600 current permits, worth about $82 million, sit in FEMA high-risk flood zones. Most are in zone A99.
Building permits and FEMA flood zones · two datasets · about 10 seconds
“Which large multifamily sites are within walking distance of transit?”
19 of the 20 largest R-3A, R-4 and RMX zoning areas are within 400 m of a bus or rail stop. The largest, 22.9 hectares, is 24 m from one.
Zoning and transit stops · two datasets · about 15 seconds
“Which areas pass a first development screen?”
857 zoning areas, 1,836 acres: dense-use zones inside the transit-oriented development area, outside historic districts and outside FEMA high-risk flood zones.
Five datasets in one query · about 30 seconds
“Where is flood exposure highest?”
North and South Natomas. 99.9% and 98.9% of their area is in the FEMA high-risk zone, and they hold 99% of the residential permits in flood zones.
Planning areas, flood zones, permits and historic resources · about 1 minute
“Check this parcel for development.”
A 537 m² single-family parcel: zoned R-1 on 87.5% of its area, FEMA zone X behind a levee, a bus stop 296 m away. 12.5% of the parcel is not covered by any zoning area, so confirm the boundary with the city.

How it works
1. Create a key.
In Aino, open AI & API and create a key. Read only is the safe default. Read and run also lets your assistant start analyses.
2. Connect your tool.
Add Aino as an MCP server with the URL above and your key in the Authorization header. It takes about two minutes.
3. Ask in plain language.
Your assistant picks the right Aino tools, runs them and answers with figures and their sources. Results also appear in your Aino projects.
Works with
Claude
Claude Code
Cursor
VS Code
Codex
Gemini CLI
Other MCP clients
Claude works on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans through a custom connector.
Ask a question, and your assistant writes and runs the SQL for you. Aino runs it on PostGIS over the layers in your projects: open data, your uploads and the results of earlier analyses.
• Spatial joins across up to 5 datasets in one query
• Areas and shares of overlap in real units
• Distances in meters and nearest-neighbor search
• CTEs, window functions and aggregates
• Up to 500 rows per result

GROUP BY base_zone

City data, not just tools.
Aino collects zoning, parcels, flood zones, building permits, transit and census data from open and municipal sources for your area.
Every figure with its source.
Answers name the dataset behind each number, so you can check it and show it to a client.
Analysis, not raw files.
Screen sites against your criteria and run feasibility studies with a verdict, key numbers and constraints.
One account, one balance.
Everything your assistant does lands in your Aino projects. Open it on the map, edit it, export it or share it. Credits work the same as in the app.
Read only or Read and run
Read only
explore projects and datasets, answer questions with SQL, read analysis reports. Your assistant can’t create, run or change anything.
Read and run
everything in Read only, plus create agents from templates, run analyses and screen sites.
Limits
Active runs
3 at a time, shared with the app

Security
• The key is you: your assistant works within your account and your projects.
• Read only is the safe default. It can’t create, run or change anything.
• Each key is shown once. You can set it to expire.
• Revoke a key any time. It stops working within a minute.
• Keep tool approval on in your assistant, so it asks before starting a run.
FAQ
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools and data. An MCP server, like Aino’s, exposes those tools. Once connected, your assistant can call Aino the way it would use a built-in feature.
Which AI tools work with Aino MCP?
Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and other MCP clients that support HTTP and custom headers.
Do I need a paid Aino plan?
Aino MCP is available on every Aino plan. Analyses started from your assistant use your credits, the same as in the app.
Can my assistant change my data?
Only with a Read and run key. A Read only key can explore projects, run SQL and read reports, but it can’t create, run or change anything.
What data can I query?
The layers in your Aino projects: open and municipal data Aino collected for your area, files you uploaded and the results of earlier analyses. On Teams you can also connect your own PostgreSQL database.
Does it work outside the US?
Yes. Open data such as buildings, streets and points of interest is available worldwide. Parcel data covers the US and large cities in Europe and Australia.
How is it different from the Aino web app?
The tools and data are the same. The web app adds the interactive map with layers. Use your assistant for questions, SQL and runs, and open the results in Aino to see them on the map.
How do I connect Claude?
In Claude, add a custom connector with the server URL https://mcp.aino.world/mcp, choose No sign-in, and add the header Authorization: Bearer with your Aino key. Full steps are in the setup guide: https://help.aino.world.
